A PANORAMA OF THRILLING ADVENTURE

BY

Falling water cascading down onto the rocks
losing the stability of the river bed
for a brief moment
sparkling, dancing, and rising up
into refreshing vapor
and billows of splashing condensation
as you land and continue your journey
down, down, down,
onto more rocks and through aqueducts carved
from the stone
by the powerful relentless rushing,
and then comes a short time of solemnity
as the rushing turns to silent worship
in a serene, quiet pool,
but at the far end of the pool is an
outlet unbeknownst to the resting water
and the slow gentle current takes
the wet life
on another adventure
through a small crevice,
rushing out from the rock
it looks like the memorial in the desert,
when God by the staff of Moses
brought water gushing out of the rock,
enough to care for the millions
of thirsty onlookers.
Finally a resting place,
secure and undisturbed in the valley below
where fish swim and dart and play
and shiny pebbles lay happy
under its cool, clear, rippling movement
and butterflies dipping in the breeze
over your surface
the hot sun showing off the brilliance
of their symmetrical colors.
What a nice relaxing destination
after a panorama
of thrilling adventure.
